Stage 4 Current

02/09/07

Here's the graph from the dyno pull. I'm only running 11lbs. of boost because of the stock rods. They can only handle 250 lbs. of torque.

12/26/06

This is the Spool Boy Modification. Why is it necessary? Well, as it turns out the neon does have a stock fuel regulator on it. It's the little silver canister on top of the gas tank canister inlet (look under the passenger side right in front of the rear tire and you'll see it in the center of the hub). So no matter what you do you won't hit above 45-50 psi of fuel pressure( on mine at least ). Here's a link from www.neons.org .

Done! The Mega Squirt is amazing. Thanks to Ted from Floridaneons.org (username is Grawill) . He knows his stuff straight up. He did a nice tune on the fly with his laptop while I was driving. Like I said, Mega Squirt kicks ass. Here's some pics of the finished build.....well I will add one more so stay tuned. =P

View of the wire loom in place.

     Over view of everything inside.

Here's the Mega Squirt running. the middle light stays on while the car warms up. The outside lights flicker with the firing of banks 1 and 2 of the coil pack.

Their is my air/fuel meter staying nice and steady thanks to the wide band Innovate system.

There is the Wide Band LC-1 Innovate controller.

10/15/06

Here's the pics of what was done. Hopefully Ted from Floridaneons can help me get the harness soldered in.

Air temperature sensor installed.

Water Temperature sensor installed.

Here's the harness through the firewall.

Harness attached along with the vacuum line.

This is where I mounted the Mega Squirt. Don't worry, it doesn't get in the way.

07/22/06

Well since the Neon meet I went to, I'm selling the Greddy E-manage Ultimate on E-Bay and I just got in my Mega Squirt ECU with the Innovate Wideband O2 sensor for the perfect tuning. With the help of Ted from www.floridaneons.org It should be installed hopefully by next weekends end. Here's some pictures of them.

This will allow me to fine tune every Air/Fuel mixture at every RPM. =P

And here is Mega-Squirt with the Harness specially made for the Neon (420a configuration).  Like Ted told me, "Welcome to the world of too much control!"

Ok, Fidanza Adjustable Cam gears are installed along with my OBX 6.25 quart aluminum oil pan. Here's some pictures.

Oil return line from the Turbo plumbed in.

Wow, been a long time since an update. I took out the missing link and ordered the Hahns Racecrafts Fuel mapper. I also bought the Greddy E-Manage Ultimate and a laptop for it's software. Also I installed my new fog lights and a custom overflow bottle.

This stage will be completed before the end of July. Here's some pics.

That's the Hahns racecraft electronic fuel mapper. Basically it prevents the Map Sensor from seeing boost.

Yes indeed, the E-manage Ultimate by Greddy with wiring harness. I'm not installing this myself. It costs around $600.00 and if you hook it up wrong, you can damage the unit and your PCM along with your wiring Harness. So I called a certified Greddy Shop and they'll install it for 150.00. Then it's off to another recommended Greddy shop for a Dyno Tune. All happening soon.

New foglights installed.

Custom Overflow bottle. Stay tuned.

Installed my new AEM universal fuel pressure regulator. Didn't like the old one. Moved the new Fuel Pressure gauge to the fuel rail. Fuel pressure went from 40psi to 20psi. But I think the O2 sensor I installed has fowled out. I sent an e-mail to Autometer about the functions of the meter. Things are normal during hard acceleration, deceleration and cruise. At Idle it's not acting correctly so I'm assuming I'll have to buy another O2 sensor depending on what Tech Support says. Stay Tuned.

It's running! Running good too. The Blow off valve kicks ass. I haven't really had a chance to drive it because I have to insure it on Monday and get a new plate. After that, it'll be time to see what she'll be really capable of. Here's some pics.

09/27/05

Got the positive wire ran from the trunk and got my 2 10" sub box and power amp re-installed. Here's the pic.

09/23/05

Got alot done today. I got the gas tank back in, Battery tray bolted down in the trunk, Negative wire ran (still have to run the positive), Finished the Intercooler piping with T-Bolt clamps throughout except where I had flanges, got the bumper bolted back into place and installed my new headlights. Here's 2 more pics. Stay tuned.

Here's the intake piping in place. It runs over the tranny, down and off to the passenger side to the intercooler. You can see the T-Bolt clamps in place. These will ensure no pop offs that can happen using regular clamps.

Front end all bolted back together. There's my new headlights.  I can't wait to buy my Wings West body kit to cover the bottom of the intercooler. =P

09/07/05

Here's some pics of some other purchases and installs. I'll be able to install them after the move. Also, I'm moving the website at the end of this month so it might be down for a bit. But it will be back up. Stay Tuned.

The Turbo Timer from Greddy. This will insure the life of my turbo. Basically I turn the key off on my car and it keeps running until the turbo is cooled down enough then it shuts off the engine. This keeps the oil from cooking inside the turbo, which cakes up and can kill the turbo. Stay Tuned. -Rich

08/11/05

Installed the Walboro Fuel Pump, partially installed the fuel pressure regulator, installed the Fuel return line for the tank and got in my OBX 6.25 qt. oil pan with baffles in. Here's the pics:

06/20/05

   Ok, here's the newest pictures.

06/18/05

Here's 2 new pictures.  It's not alot but, 2 hrs. worth of work and I had to take a break from the heat. Plus working 10 hrs a day isn't helping.

05/03/05

Here's the pictures. Like I said on the main page. Definitely, need the Wings West Body kit to compliment the huge intercooler. That's later on in the build though. It's all test fitted now so I have to just get it all bolted on then run the tubing.

Ok, here's the pic of the intercooler and bumper temporarily in place.  With the Wings west body kit hopefully it'll take care of the bottom overhang. If not, I'll get someone over with a welder and have them cut off enough off of the bumper to let it raise up the amount needed. We'll have to wait before we get to that point though. Check it out.

04/22/05

Here's the picture of the polished aluminum 2.5" tubing to finish the intercooler installation.

03/20/05

Here's the picture with the milled hole for the Blow Off Valve. This coming Friday I'm dropping it off to get it welded in place.

03/11/05

Here's the picture of the pillar gauge pod and the SRT-4 stock blow off valve blocking plate, so you can use an aftermarket Blow off valve. Like my Turbo XS blow off valve pictured on the bottom of this page. Check back soon.

03/10/05

Here's the pictures of my Auto Meter Air/Fuel Gauge and 2.5" x 16" polished aluminum intercooler pipe. Check back soon.

And here is the pipe.

03/07/05

Ok here's the pictures of the Boost controller and my 2 90 degree couplings I got off of E-Bay for under a $120.00 for all three pcs. Check back soon.

03/03/05

Ok, here's the pictures. Hopefully I can get most of it done this coming week. As I said on the main page, I'm ordering the Air/Fuel Gauge tonight and I have (2) 90 degree couplings coming in. I'm also going to be ordering the piping to finish the intercooler setup. Stay tuned!

Battery Relocation Kit via Jegs.

5 Silicone Couplings from E-Bay.

Plenty of silicone hose to finish the job. 3 different sizes, 10 feet each. From        E-Bay

255lph. Walbro High Volume Fuel Pump, $99.00 shipped via E-Bay.

What an awesome piece of work. Very well packaged and done so well.  Here's a closer look below.

I think one word sums up this Intercooler "Sweet!" (especially because the price is $225.00 shipped!) Stay tuned people! -Rich

02/07/05

Here's a picture of the Regulator and Fuel Rail freshly painted to match the intake manifold and valve cover. Check back soon.

01/31/05

Here's a picture of the fuel rail. It's nice. Got it from Deyeme racing for 119.00. It's tapped at both ends so I can add the fuel pressure regulator and return line. In 2 weeks I should have in the fuel/air meter and Walboro High Volume Fuel Pump. Then I'll install everything, tune the air fuel mixture and return to using this as my daily driver. Then I'll be ordering the custom made front mount intercooler and piping. The great thing is, I found both for under 500.00 shipped!!

Don't worry, I'll post links as soon as I get mine in! Check back soon!

01/12/05

I just got in my Fuel Pressure Regulator and a new Blow Off valve for when I add the Intercooler. I'll add the regulator soon along with a walboro fuel pump, A high volume fuel rail, a return fuel line to the tank and an electronic air fuel gauge that will hook up to the o2 sensor so I can properly tune the car for maximum power. All coming soon. I also included a picture of the Book which is known as 'The Bible of Boost' Maximum Boost. I'll post more shortly stay tuned.

This is definitely the book to have for doing a custom Turbo setup!

Fuel Pressure regulator and the new BOV for when I add the Intercooler. As boost rises, the regulator will add pressure to match the boost in the Fuel Rail. It's adjustable so you can properly tune your air/fuel mixture. Check back soon.
