12/21/04 I added the Accel 36lb. injectors and got the bosch clips from www.deyemeracing.com . Here's the picture. 11/16/04 Here are 2 pictures of everything complete. I upgraded my sound system with a 2 10" Coustic Carbon Fiber 10" subs with enclosure and an MTX 4244 Power Amp. Sounds great and runs great. Will start the next stage soon, so stay posted. -Rich The running engine pic. 2 10"sub Coustic Carbon Fiber Subs with the MTX 4244 Power Amp. Sounds Awesome!
11/11/04 Finished. Man this thing hauls ass. I've spent the last three days just doing nothing but driving. It's just damn sweet. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. I added a stage 4 to the list. This will consist of the following : Intercooler, bigger injectors, Bigger Fuel pump, boost controller, fuel return system and a turbo timer. Anyway, stay tuned. -Rich 11/05/04 The only thing I have left to do is finish the exhaust, do the intake for the turbo and buy a different fitting for the oil return from the turbo. Everything else is done. I had to re-configure the piping going to the throttle body but, it's done! Here's 2 pics. 10/27/04 Here's the pictures of the cylinder head put in place with the turbo, turbo manifold and intake already installed. Now I just have to torque down the head re-run the piping and etc..etc. Should have it up and running by this weekend. =) Here's two pictures of the install. 10/25/04 I got the pistons re-installed with new connecting rod bolts torqued to spec. Installed the oil pan and got the starter reinstalled. Here's a picture of the pistons finally back.
10/14/04 Here's the pic of the boost and oil pressure gauges installed.
10/08/04 Here's a pic of the Exhaust Ports all done. and I took a picture of everything semi bolted up so I can get an idea of how I want to run the piping for the turbo. I still have to wet sand the top of the raised lettering on the valve cover. I'm heading over to my friend Pete's house tomorrow to get the piping done. I have the Pistons ready to go and the cylinder head. Monday it's going to be re-assembled. Check back soon!
9/18/04 Here's the pics of the Intake side of my cylinder head ported and polished. Remember, if you want this done to your head just drop on by www.ptheads.com (my side business) and e-mail us for the pricing of what you want done. Anyway, here's the pics. This is going to make some great power! Now that's a port job! I spent about 5 hours on it. It's like a mirror finish! Next weekend I'll get the exhaust done, Get the head shaved, get the valves cut and work with my business partner Pete and do the 3 angle valve job. We are also replacing all of the exhaust valve guides, 2 were worn. Here's another pic. Check back next weekend! -Rich 8/27/04 I have received my gauges in. I took them to work with me, I work with car audio equipment so I was able to hook up the power leads to my testing station to check out the seven different colors that are available. Here's some pictures. Boost in red Boost and Oil Pressure together. I think I like the Blue. Besides, it'll match my dash board. Here's my Turbo Pistons from Wiseco! Teflon coated skirts, 8.8:1 Compression. These are probably one of the best set of Pistons you can buy. It'll set you back a bit, but when it comes to the internals it's well worth it. The stock pistons were press fit. These will be free floating with lock pins. Almost $700.00 total after tax just for these. Here's the label. I'll post more pictures in the coming week when the rest of the parts come in. Lots of parts coming in. Check back soon. -Rich 8/15/04
Here's our compressor. God, this made the Engine teardown possible in 6 hrs!
Cylinder head off.
Pistons are out, Cylinder walls look good and so does the Crank Shaft. And here we have the pistons. The wrist pin on piston 1 (on the left) was definitely bad. As soon as I had the cylinder head off of the engine, I grabbed the top of the piston and was actually able to shake it a little left to right. There it was, my rattle! Should have my JE Pistons in soon, 8.8:1 pistons with Molley rings and new wrist pins.
Here's the SRT-4 Blow off valve conversion kit installed. When all is said and done, this stage 1 turbo will be pushing around 250-300hp. First test drive is going to feel like Christmas morning, when I was a kid. LOL.
Here's the Exhaust installed. Pretty damn sweet! The exhaust added about 10 more HP!
Here's one of me just recently taken.
Check back soon. -Rich 12/14/03
