All the intercooler piping
is done along with my cold air intake topped off with a K&N
filter. The bottom of the filter sits parallel to the bottom of
the intercooler. So this is a TRUE cold air intake. I just won't
be driving this thing in the rain. With the horsepower I'll be
putting down that wouldn't be a good idea anyway =P. I Have to
order some more 8AN fittings to complete the fuel system because
things never line up like you imagine they would. If you look
where the thermostat housing is you'll notice I had to go around
it. Now I need a 8AN 45 degree fitting because it's hitting the
90 degree elbow at the other end of the fuel rail. It's the
little nit pick crap that drives me nuts when trying to complete
a build. I'm sure there's plenty of people out there that can
agree on that. Anyway, it's a 3 day weekend so Monday I'm going
to finish the downpipe for the 3" exhaust. Happy Memorial
Day!
Oh, BTW. I bought myself a gift for the car for all my hard work
=). Check it out below. It looks awesome!
There's
the intake 8an line to the fuel rail. Notice the 90 degree bend
going around the housing?
All
three pipes, soooo close. LOL. The AEM FPR is going to have to be
moved. Think I'll fab a bracket to extend it out another 2-3
inches. Remember all that space I had! Where'd it go!? LOL.
Another
shot. BOV looks good.
One
more shot.
Now
that's a cold air intake! Brand new K&N filter.
See
how close everything is. Tightening up all those clamps in those
close quarters was a blast! OK,
Here's my gift to the car!
Here
she is. The new IPP Carbon Fiber Hood from Modern Performance.
It's just sitting on there for now but man, doesn't she look
good? Functional hood scoop that'll direct air right on my turbo.
So now I have my turbo air, coolant and oil cooled. =) Stay
tuned for Monday. 07/05/10 Here
some of the pictures. I was so close to getting it running and
now having to pull the head off for a bent valve sucks. Glad I
caught it. Could've been catastrophic.
Tack
welds in place.
Welded
and bolted in place.
Fuel
lines are done.
Notice
how the rocker is missing. When I turned the crank the valve got
stuck (because it's bent) and the rocker (aka camshaft follower)
just fell off. So I have to pull the head, get the valves
replaced, probably some guides along with it and buy the crower
springs and titanium retainers as well. More money and more
time.
